About Us

 Last updated: October 29, 2012

The Yale Friends of Turkey is a student-run organization at Yale University that aims to connect a diverse group of members over topics related to Turkey and the Turkish Culture. Our activities range from cultural dinners with signature Turkish food to academic talks on Turkish politics. Among our established events are Reach Out trips to Turkey, biweekly movie screenings, weekly Turkish language tables, coffee hours, and much more. In addition, we co-sponsor social gatherings with fellow cultural organizations every semester.

As YFT, we have previously published two issues of our magazine, Dergi, which we hope to improve further with your suggestions and submissions. In addition, we are pleased to announce that the Bulldogs in Istanbul summer internship program, which we have started in cooperation with the Undergraduate Career Services (UCS), has successfully completed its fifth year. The range of the internship opportunities in Istanbul reflects the hard work of both the YFT Board and the UCS.

A country of endless discovery and fascination, Turkey is also becoming an essential topic of discussion in today’s world. YFT hopes to present a platform where dialogues about Turkey and Turkish culture can take place. To that end, we would be pleased to receive your feedback about our past and current activities, as well as suggestions for the future.

We are looking forward to another great year in which we will continue to add diversity and color to the Yale campus. If you would like to learn more about these exciting projects, please join our mailing list to receive our weekly newsletter. We hope to see you at our future events!
